Liturgical Ministries

The communal celebration of the liturgy is the center of the life of a parish. It is in the liturgy that we express who we are as Catholics. The celebrant of the liturgy is the entire community, from priest to parishioner, from musician to minister of hospitality.

Weekend Ministry Schedules

To simplify the process for scheduling Eucharistic Ministers and save hours of work,  all volunteers will now be scheduled at random at the Mass they selected to serve, taking in to consideration those who leave for the winter.

If you know you will be absent at your scheduled time, please have the courtesy to find a substitute. If you cannot find a substitute, please contact Roger & Mary Jackson. If you need to contact us, please let us know at which Mass you normally serve.

Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion

If you are interested in joining this ministry, please contact Mary Jackson for further information.

Readers are welcomed for the weekend and weekday Masses.  Please contact Mary Jackson for further information.

Altar Servers

There is always an opportunity for our youth to participate in the liturgy.  Regular training is held for altar servers throughout the year.  For dates of the next training sessions, watch the bulletin, website calendar or call the parish office.  For questions regarding schedules, please contact Dave DeLeon.

Assisting our clergy before and after the Mass is a rewarding role, particularly for funerals.  Full training is given; if interested contact Dave DeLeon.  Please contact Deacon Bert Bliss, if you are interested in the role of a funeral sacristan.

Music Ministry

The Church has always seen music as an important voice of prayer. Over the centuries a rich tradition of liturgical music has been and continues to be developed. At St. Michael’s we are blessed to have a number of beautiful choirs and musicians to assist our voices in prayer.

St. Michael’s choirs  and musicians perform under the direction of Jayne Windnagel, Director of Liturgy and Music. Parishioners interested in participating in one of these groups are invited to e-mail Jayne to learn more.
