A Message from Our Pastor

On-Campus Update

All Masses, Stations of the Cross, studies, events, meetings, and gatherings (including the parish mission) have been cancelled until further notice. The Archdiocesan website has more information on the suspension of Masses and dispensation from the obligation to attend Sunday Mass at this time.

Our parish offices remain open with limited staffing. We encourage parishioners to call the office, use email, or visit our website for information whenever possible.

Confessions

The Lord still wishes to make His mercy available at this time, and we are committed to maintaining our regular hours to offer the Sacrament of Reconciliation (while still holding to current health recommendations by offering “Drive-Through Confessions” at the Church of Saint Mary. Penitents may enter the church parking lot through the entrance closest to Pine Street, drive their vehicle to the west end, put down their driver-side window, and meet the priest for confession (all from the socially-appropriate distance of 6 feet and the comforts of your vehicle); then continue through the parking lot to exit out the other entrance. Please maintain an appropriate distance in your vehicle if you are the next in line to respect the seal of the confessional.

We appreciate your willingness to explore this creative possibility of helping our parishioners return to the Father’s merciful heart this Lent. Availability of parking lot confessions will follow the current confession schedule – Monday-Friday from 5:00-5:30 p.m.; Saturday 8:00-8:30 a.m. and 3:00-3:30 p.m.

Ways to Help

Please contact Deacon Bert Bliss at 651-379-1266 if you have extra time or talent on your hands that you would be willing to lend to other families in our community needing assistance.

Please consider cooking a meal for our priests. Fr. Izen and Fr. Powers are exceedingly grateful for your support as they continue to minister to our parish community. Log on to the Care Calendar site using Calendar ID 215802 and Password 9368. Complete your entry online as directed. Meal preferences and  directions for drop off time and location are listed on the site. There is a refrigerator on the porch for leaving food and a storage bin where cleaned dishes can be picked up. Please call either parish office for assistance in signing up to bring a meal.

Please continue to pray – particularly at home through your daily sacrifices and inconveniences. We know our prayers and suffering united to Christ’s Passion are powerful remedies to every difficulty we face.

Please prayerfully consider giving to help our parish continue its work of ministering to our community. Online giving through our parish website is a simple option while our gatherings are limited at this time.
